Parks and Recreation COVID-19 Updates
Update: 9/4/2020

In accordance with the updated executive order of Phase 2.5, Lincoln County Parks and Recreation playgrounds will be reopening at 5 p.m. on Friday Sept. 4, 2020.  We encourage playground visitors to continue following social distancing guidelines, avoiding crowded areas and washing/sanitizing hands after visiting.  


Lincoln County Parks and Recreation and Lincoln County Administration continue to monitor COVID-19.  We continue to adapt the reopening plans for park amenities, facilities, and programs with public health and safety as our priority.

Due to the current state restrictions, the splash pads at Beatty's Ford Park in Denver and West Lincoln Park in Vale will not be opening in 2020.  We will continue to update other facility reopening plans here on the website and via social media.

Lincoln County Parks and Recreation is now entering our reopening plans for our recreation and park facilities.  Please visit this site and our Lincoln County Parks and Recreation Facebook page for updates regarding our facilities and programs.

We encourage Lincoln County residents to make use of our parks and trails and continue to follow local, state and national guidelines for social distancing and avoiding group gatherings.

We encourage all our park visitors to follow information provided by the CDC and the Lincoln County Health Department regarding potential risk. Please follow social distancing guidelines when visiting the parks and remember that group gatherings are not permitted at this time.

Park Shelter Reservation Update
We are currently taking reservations for our park shelters.  At this time we are not scheduling any reservations for our indoor facilities or community centers.

If you would like to make a shelter reservation please contact our Lincolnton office at 704-748-1518.  All reservation payments and paperwork must be turned in at our Lincolnton office or by mail.  

Half day shelter reservations are $50 and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Full day reservations are $100 and from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. 
This includes shelter reservations for West Lincoln Park, Beatty's Ford Park, Rock Springs Nature Preserve, and Rescue Squad Park. Please contact our Parks and Recreation office at 704-748-1518 to book your reservation or download the reservation forms here on our Parks and Recreation page.

Parks and Recreation Offices Have Moved
The office for the Parks and Recreation Department has moved to 206 Gamble Drive, 1st Floor (with Veterans Admin Office), located next to the old hospital in Lincolnton. People needing to book park shelters, pick up keys for reservations, or any need other Parks and Recreation info, should come to the new office. 

Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame Nominations are now open!
The Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting applications for the Class of 2020.  Nomination forms must be submitted by mail to PO Box 25, Lincolnton, NC 28093 by March 1st each year.  You can download a nomination form from the link below or pick one up at the Lincoln County Parks and Recreation office in Lincolnton.
